Our commitment

Ankra wishes ankra.org to be usable by as many people as possible, including those living with visual, motor, auditory or cognitive limitations, as well as those for whom pain, fatigue or difficulties with concentration may make navigation more demanding.

Our objective

Ankra aims to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, and works to maintain an accessible experience, particularly with regard to visual, motor and cognitive dimensions.

This statement expresses an objective and a commitment to continuous improvement. It does not, at this stage, constitute an independent certification of full conformance.

Principles applied to the website

In the design and ongoing development of the website, Ankra seeks, in particular, to:

  • provide keyboard-navigable browsing;
    • maintain a visible focus on interactive elements;
      • use a logical heading structure;
        • maintain readable contrast ratios;
          • provide text alternatives for informative images where necessary;
            • avoid conveying essential information through colour alone;
              • allow content to be enlarged and reflowed without loss of information;
                • limit unnecessary animations, motion and interruptions;
                  • use understandable button and link labels;
                    • design forms with clear labels and error messages;
                      • favour short paragraphs, descriptive headings and predictable navigation;
                        • avoid requiring an understanding of the Ankra navigation metaphor in order to use any website feature.

Cognitive accessibility

Ankra pays particular attention to cognitive accessibility. Pain, fatigue, brain fog and difficulties with concentration can increase the effort required to find or understand information. We therefore seek to limit visual overload, make essential information easy to locate and use language that is as clear as possible without oversimplifying scientific content.

External services and content

Certain features may be provided by external services, such as forms, booking tools, subscription platforms or linked resources. Their level of accessibility may depend in part on those providers. Ankra seeks to favour accessible solutions and to flag significant difficulties when they are known.

Continuous improvement

Accessibility is treated as an ongoing process. When a difficulty is identified, Ankra seeks to assess it and make a reasonable correction based on the nature of the issue, the tools available and technical constraints.

Report an issue
